Cardiovascular Health Is Nutrition, Not Statin Drugs!

20 October, 2008 by naturalsolutionsradio

by Dr. Eliezer Ben-Joseph

Almost all adults are concerned about the condition of their heart and cardiovascular system. Some live in constant fear wondering whether any ache, cramp or pain in their chest is a sign of a heart attack. There isn’t an adult living in North America that hasn’t lost a loved one or a family member to heart disease. The fact is, heart attacks kill, and they kill by the millions every year!

Just recently we witnessed the sudden death of TV news anchorman Tim Russert from a massive heart attack. Tim was only 58 years old. It came as a complete shock to the world. Since Tim was internationally recognized, our society tends to give deaths like his more attention than others. What happened to Tim Russert is only a microcosm of what is happening on a massive scale every year. Generally we expect people in their seventies, eighties and nineties to die from heart attacks. When it occurs with people in their twenties, thirties, forties or fifties, it’s usually considered a tragedy.

What you will rarely hear is that most heart disease is caused by nutritional deficiencies. You won’t get well or live out the years you were created to live until you know what’s causing your heart condition or how to prevent one altogether. Of all the organs in the body the heart is the one most often damaged by nutritional deficiencies. It is also the most responsive organ to nutritional therapies.

Mainstream medicine’s answer to heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes/blood sugar issues is to treat it with drugs. They have it all wrong?

Neither heart disease, high blood pressure nor diabetes/blood sugar issues are due to “drug deficiencies”. The reasons for each of these problems are due to complexities of nutritional deficiencies. These deficiencies come from a few very bad dietary habits that have only become common place over the last 100 years.

100 years ago cardiovascular disease was not even among the top ten causes of death. Today it is the number one cause of death and has been number one more than half a century.

Take statin drugs to lower cholesterol and save your life. If statin drugs are not the biggest scam ever they are at least right near the top.

Cholesterol levels are reduced due to statins interfering with normal liver processes. Liver problems are one of the two most common and most serious side effects of taking statins.
The other most common and most serious side effect of taking statins is muscle damage. Isn’t the heart a muscle? Why, YES, it is!

Cholesterol is not the issue, yet rather one has too little of the essential trace mineral element chromium, selenium, magnesium, and silica.

Chromium manages cholesterol. In the absence of chromium cholesterol is unmanaged and goes haywire.

Increased chromium does two things; it increases the levels of “good” HDL cholesterol and decreases the “bad” LDL cholesterol. Chromium provides the best of both worlds with no side effects.

How about this fact. Chromium in the aorta was not detected (too low to be found) in every person dying of coronary artery disease, and was present in every aorta of persons dying accidentally.”

You do not have high cholesterol and heart disease because of a deficiency of Lipitor! Artificial means (DRUGS) do not fix the problem which in part is a chromium deficiencies.
The most effective way of avoiding the atherosclerotic-diabetic syndrome is by prevention, that means, “take chromium”

Everyone talks about CoQ10 and the heart. It is a naturally occurring compound that is found in every cell of the body. It also plays a major role in protecting the heart. Let me say that selenium is more important than CoQ10?

CoQ10 is produced in the body from selenium. Second, selenium is relatively inexpensive and CoQ10 is one of the more expensive products on the market. It is a matter of common sense and dollars and cents – as well as scientific sense – to concentrate more on selenium supplementation than on CoQ10 supplementation.

There is also no better antioxidant than selenium. Antioxidants protect against free radicals that damage the arteries, thereby setting up the basis for plaque build-up.
Selenium deficiency is also at the root of hypertension (commonly called high blood pressure) that also increases cardiovascular risk. The real problem is the heavy metal cadmium.

Research has found that refined, white salt was a carrying agent for the mineral cadmium and that a build-up of cadmium was the real agent of hypertension.

Cadmium is a heavy metal and as such is stable against the processing that removes other minerals when refining salt deposits to the pretty, white, sodium chloride salt so popular with almost everybody – this sets up an exaggerated imbalance of cadmium that results in high blood pressure.

Cadmium displaces zinc. The only normal means by which the body removes cadmium is the mineral selenium. Selenium physically bonds with cadmium to escort it out of the system. Of course, selenium is sacrificed in this role so that it is then unavailable to protect the heart, prevent cancer.

Cigarette smoking is documented to dramatically increase high blood pressure risk. Cigarette smoke is very high in cadmium. The subsequent loss of selenium due to such cadmium increase also explains why cigarette smokers have so much more heart disease as well as cancer.

The only mineral left in white flour and white sugar is cadmium.

Selenium is important for so many functions in the body that it just makes sense in so many ways to concentrate on selenium supplementation rather than CoQ10 supplementation.

Going back to statins. The artificial means by which statin drugs interfere with the production of cholesterol also interferes with the production of CoQ10 from selenium.
So, if you are so brainwashed and/or brain dead as to use a statin drug then you must supplement with the very expensive supplement of CoQ10, because this very important substance cannot be produced from the more economical selenium due to the interference from the statin drug. So plaque builds up.

Plaque build-up is a concern to the vast majority of Americans who make Standard American Dietary choices.

First, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” as the old saying goes. Preventing heart problems is easier than countering heart problems.

While chromium deficiency is a primary cause of heart problems, it is not THE primary cause of heart problems.

91 per cent of chromium is removed when white flour is made. However, before cholesterol goes out of control due to a lack of chromium and becomes a significant part of the plaque process there has to be damage to the artery.

92 per cent of selenium is removed when white flour is made. However, before a lack of selenium becomes a part of the plaque process due to increased damage to the artery there is another matter of the heart.

95 per cent of the mineral silicon is removed when white flour is made – more than either selenium or chromium. Silica is vital to the integrity of the blood vessels. It is key to both strength and elasticity of the vessels.

Lack of silica results in weaker blood vessels. This results in damage to the weaker vessels from free radicals due to lack of selenium. Then cholesterol acts as a band-aid to a problem that is not truly countered without the restoration of the nutrients. The continual placing of cholesterol band-aids is the plaque that builds up in the arteries.

A study many years ago confirmed that in those dying from cardiovascular disease there was little or no silica to be found in the arteries. Those who died with healthy cardiovascular systems had an abundance of silica in their arteries.

Other very important nutrient deficiencies contributing to heart disease are magnesium, of which 75 per cent is removed in the refining of white flour, and pyridoxal compounds (referred to as vitamin B6) of which more than 50 per cent is removed in the refining of white flour.

Statin drug use is so absolutely idiotic. The primary function of statins – the number one most prescribed drug in the world – is to reduce cholesterol, which is not a primary cause of heart disease. Neither is cholesterol secondary or even tertiary to heart disease. Yet statins do prevent production of CoQ10 which IS a primary PROTECTOR of the heart!
There is even growing talk of statins being given to children. THAT would be child abuse.
When cholesterol is alleged to be high the concern needs to be to cease refined white flour and refined white sugar products, and start taking chromium. I’ve never known a “cholesterol problem” not resolved with that regimen through almost three decades of experience and it happens in a matter of months and sometimes in a matter of weeks.
The most important aspect of utilizing chromium with cholesterol issues – since cholesterol issues ARE actually chromium deficiency issues – is that chromium balances out cholesterol by decreasing truly high “bad” LDL levels and increasing low “good” HDL levels.

Of all the organs in the human body, the heart is most responsive to nutritional therapies. So take the nutrients!

The mineral chromium is the most important for cardiovascular health. Remember that all the important nutrients for cardiovascular health – chromium, silicon, selenium, magnesium and the pyridoxals (vitamin B6) – are gone from the American dietary staple of refined white flour and sugar.

Exercise and running – which requires energy. The basic energy unit of the body at the most basic level is ATP. That is formed from glucose and oxygen. The extra energy required for running requires extra chromium. When that is absent then the benefits of running are increasing your risk of death.. The lack of chromium will eventually catch up to you. Sooner or later it will overtake you.

Jim Fixx dropped dead of a massive heart attack at the young age of 52 in the midst of his normal 10-mile daily run. It was only seven years after releasing his book on running. Though a runner for many years he died with one coronary artery blocked almost 100 per cent, a second blocked 80 per cent, and a third 70 per cent blocked.

If your heart is broke, don’t Fixx it. Running causes the release of endorphins and makes those who do so feel good. Running is a better option than drug therapy. It may make you feel better. It may even extend your life more than if you did nothing at all. Ultimately, it still does not address the underlying problem of chromium deficiency. Running in fact demands more chromium and will therefore increase a deficiency if that nutrient need is not addressed.

Take vitamin B6 every time you eat any animal food – that’s meat, eggs, or any heated dairy product, to prevent the formation of homocysteine that damages arteries.

Is the Federal Reserve Engaged in Acts of Economic Warfare Against America?

8 October, 2008 by naturalsolutionsradio

This article is not written by me, but I felt it was important enough to repost.

Wednesday, October 08, 2008 by: Mike Adams

(NaturalNews) In 1942, German intelligence officers rounded up skilled Jewish prisoners and launched Operation Bernhardt, a clever scheme designed to counterfeit hundreds of millions of dollars worth of British Pounds and destroy the British economy by flooding it with counterfeit money. Located in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, Operation Bernhardt was, even by modern standards, a runaway success that resulted in the creation of forged bank notes worth 132 million British Pounds.

This "economic warfare" operation resulted in a devastating economic effect on the British economy. You can read the true history of this operation here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_…

It is important to note that Operation Bernhardt was an act of war, specifically pursued for the purpose of destroying Britain’s economy by creating so much new money that the value of the money already in circulation would plummet. This was considered a strategic attack, just as effective as carpet-bombing tank factories or mowing down soldiers on the field with German-made MG42 machine guns.

What does all this have to do with the Federal Reserve?

Today, the Federal Reserve is engaged in an eerily similar operation, counterfeiting trillions of dollars in U.S. bank notes and flooding the U.S. money supply with money created from nothing. The result, of course, is the same as was intended by Operation Bernhardt in 1942: The economic destruction of the target nation. Only this time, the target is the United States of America.

Hilariously, the Fed claims it’s doing this to save the economy. Yet the laws of economics tell us that flooding the money supply with trillions of dollars in new money actually harms the economy. And the Fed has been hard at work causing this harm: $250+ billion two weeks ago, $600+ billion last week and $900 billion earlier this week! It’s beginning to crank up the printing presses to the tune of a trillion dollars a week, and by doing so, it’s contributing to the destruction of the U.S. economy at a pace the Third Reich could have barely imagined.

Has the Fed declared war on the working class?

If the actions pursued by the Federal Reserve were being masterminded by Al-Qaeda, they would be denounced as acts of war. In World War II, such actions were deliberate acts of war. Targeting the economy for destruction by flooding the money supply with counterfeit currency is, by any measure, a threat to any nation.

So why is the Federal Reserve engaged in actions that, if committed by other nations, would warrant a military response? This is not an idle question. I’m not asking this in a satirical way. I’m quite serious about this: Why is the Fed committing acts of economic warfare against the United States of America? (The Fed, by the way, is a private company. It is not, as you’ve been led to believe, part of the U.S. government.)

The answer is obvious. You’ve probably already figured it out: The Federal Reserve is at war with America. It’s an economic war, of course, not a bombs-and-bullets war. The casualties, though, are just as real: Savings accounts, retirement funds, bank accounts, jobs, businesses, pensions and much more.

By counterfeiting trillions of dollars like a Sachsenhausen operation on steroids, the Fed is carpet-bombing the U.S. economy with an unprecedented flood of fiat currency, causing the exact same economic destruction intended by the Nazis in World War II (but on a much more devastating scale). And it’s doing this as part of a new economic war.

Class warfare has begun

What war? The war between the wealthy elite and the working class. The Fed is working hard, of course, to protect the wealthy elite. Over a trillion dollars of taxpayer money has already been earmarked to bail out the rich, elite bankers who lost other people’s money in a series of idiotic bets on fictitious financial instruments.

And what are these bankers doing with this taxpayer money? According to an Associated Press report published yesterday, executives of the failed insurance company AIG were sent on a $440,000 retreat "to a posh California resort" less than one week after the U.S. government bailed them out. At the spa, AIG executives enjoyed spa treatments, massages, organic food buffets and bodywork therapy, all while the American taxpayers footing the bill were slaving away in real jobs, doing real work.

That’s how this new class warfare is taking shape: YOU (the working class) get all the debt, all the losses, and all the financial burden. THEY (the wealthy elite) get all the profits, all the luxury spa treatments, all the tax breaks and billions of dollars in free money from the Federal Reserve.

In the 1942 Operation Bernhardt, the Germans literally planned to load hundreds of millions of dollars in British Pound bank notes and air-drop them over London. The resulting chaos, it was believed, would shut down the British economy, halting the flow of money needed by Britain to fund its war effort. In the United States today, the Fed is taking a different approach: Air-dropping trillions of dollars into the laps and bank accounts of wealthy bankers and financial institution CEOs, concentrating the massive creation of fiat currency into the hands of less than 1% of the population.

And just to make sure the economic carpet-bombing is a complete success, the Federal Reserve and U.S. government are conspiring to create more than a trillion dollars in new money each week, then flood those funds into banks, businesses and insurance companies. This will, of course, devastate the value of the dollars being saved, held or earned by the wage slaves who labor their lives away under this economic regime. (That would be you and me.)

It’s a brilliant plan… if you’re interested in destroying a nation. This kind of attack would bring almost any nation to its knees. It’s an act of war that requires no violence, no bombs and no destruction of real infrastructure. And yet it achieves what every war in history has ever sought to achieve: The transfer of power from the hands of the many to the hands of the few.

The Federal Reserve, in effect, has become a modern-day economic Third Reich, and it has set its sights on the U.S. economy.

Acts of economic terrorism?

Perhaps a more accurate metaphor here would be that the Fed’s creation of trillions of dollars of new money is "an act of economic terrorism" against the United States. In fact, the terrorists who masterminded 9/11 are no doubt watching this whole thing with a great sense of satisfaction. The U.S. government is now doing to its own people what the terrorists could never have accomplished: The destruction of a large portion of its economy, its currency and the savings of its people.

The economic losses of 9/11 pale in comparison to the financial destruction that has been unleashed onto America by the Federal Reserve. Two days ago, the market reaction resulted in the wipeout of $2 trillion in retirement savings of the American people. Yesterday’s market drop added another $2 trillion (or so) in losses. And this is possibly just the very beginning. There is no limit to the economic destruction that can now be unleashed upon America by the Fed’s counterfeiting operation.

Yet, amazingly, it wasn’t "terrorists" who put this plan into place. Who was it, exactly? Your Congressional representatives! In a grand, historical betrayal of the American people, members of your own U.S. House of Representatives and Senate voted to unleash this economic assault on America, violating the wishes of 99% of the American people (who are aligned against bailing out the rich on the backs of the poor).

Of course, to hear them explain it, their actions are meant to save the taxpayers. Yep, that’s their plan: To save YOU, the taxpayer, by confiscating your money and handing it over to the wealthy elite. And whatever money can’t be stolen from the taxpayers will be counterfeited by the Fed’s money-creation machine.

The Real Agenda: A Massive Transfer of Wealth

We are not watching an economic rescue, friends. We are watching an economic coup. Creating and dumping trillions of dollars into the money supply is an act of war. But it’s a war with a specific purpose.

What’s happening right now is that the United States is being taken over by King Henry and his accomplices. More than fifty percent of the housing and nearly twenty percent of the entire U.S. economy is now controlled by one person — Henry Paulson — and that person answers to no one. He isn’t elected, he can’t be removed from office, and he’s subject to no law.

King Henry controls unlimited funds. He can print any amount of money, or confiscate any amount from the taxpayers (by spending taxpayer dollars to bail out his rich friends). If the Federal Reserve is the new Third Reich, King Henry is its Hitler.

The economic war has already been lost by the People. It was lost on September 30, 2008, when Congress surrendered the U.S. economy to King Henry. The People now own nothing but paper money and ephemeral digital account numbers, all of which could be turned into worthless digits overnight by a single decision from King Henry.

In this economic bailout and the Fed’s unlimited creation of new money, America has suffered the greatest act of economic terrorism in our nation’s history. Note carefully that it wasn’t conducted by the Nazis, Saddam Hussain or Al Qaeda. It was, in fact, put into place by 172 Democrats and 91 Republicans in the House, and a similar majority in the U.S. Senate. (See the complete list below.)

So what can YOU do right now?

A system of exchange is not dependent on the dollar alone. Commerce will survive the collapse of one currency. Trade will go on after this economic chaos passes, and businesses will continue to be an important part of our economic future.

People will still need food, clothing, nutritional supplements, fuel, services, computers, tutoring, services, pet products, children’s products, cars, MP3 players and much more. The end of the U.S. dollar is NOT the end of the world. It is simply the end of one empire…

In my view, the best way to financial survive this economic warfare being conducted by the Federal Reserve against the People is to create your own economic abundance by owning (or launching) your own independent income sources.

In fact, I’ve written an entire report on how to accomplish this. It’s called How to Build Your Financial Safety Net. Due to this economic crisis, I’ve decided to release it at no charge, and it’s available right now at: http://www.naturalnews.com/report_finan…

Read it if you want to be empowered, informed and insulated from the demise of the dollar. Using the strategies you’ll find in that report, you can drastically limit your losses in this economic carpet-bombing of the U.S. economy. In fact, I believe you can emerge with greater wealth than you had when it all started.

You probably won’t be getting paid in dollars, however. Expect a new currency to be the future system of exchange in America. But building reliable income streams now is a smart way to survive the coming economic implosion that will put corporations, governments and non-profits out of business. (If you work for a paycheck, your paycheck may be in danger right now.)

What’s Really Radical

By the way, do you think this article is radical? Some people have told me that my reporting on the economic situation is "radical." You know what I told them?

I said imagine two households. One household balances its budget, spends only what it brings home in income and has no debt. The other household spends twice as much as it earns. It owes $50,000 on credit cards and borrows money from loan sharks to meet the minimum payments on its credit cards.

Which household is "radical?"

Now consider this: The second household sneaks into the first household and steals money to pay its own debts. On top of that, it has a counterfeit cash printing machine in the basement, and it’s cranking out thousands of dollars a week just to attempt to pay off its credit cards. It’s immune to the law because it buys off the local police for criminal immunity.

Which household is headed towards financial disaster? Which household has a real future, and which one doesn’t?

That second house, of course, is the United States government. My reporting on the U.S. financial situation is downright tame compared to what’s really going on behind the scenes. I can’t get radical enough to accurately describe the degree of deception and outright theft that’s taking place in Washington right now.

History will show that not only were my warnings accurate, they were understated by a wide margin. Reporting the truth is a delicate thing. People can only stomach so much truth at any one time. Few people can handle the whole truth, which is why I usually refrain from reporting it. There are things stated in this article that only hint at much bigger stories that will someday be told by others.

Only the most open-minded, skeptical thinkers can even mentally consider the real truth of what’s happening in our world today. Most people have been brainwashed into living in a fictional world, and they are unable to even consider truths that threaten their grip on reality. As Morpheus explained, "The mind has trouble letting go."

As a result, the public has to be led by the hand from one realization to the next, little by little, until they attain the ability to see the world as it really is rather than the illusion that has been constructed for them by the very people running this financial scam.

Below, I have a riddle for you. Here you’ll find an anagram. If you can figure out what this means (and if these words mean something to you), then you’re probably among the very few who are truly informed.

The Calcium Connection

29 September, 2008 by naturalsolutionsradio

The bodies pH is vital in determining the correct calcium supplement

Calcium is required by volume and weight more than any other mineral in the body.

No other mineral has received more notoriety over the years, yet remains so misunderstood. If your look around you will find many forms of calcium. How do you determine what is the best type of calcium for your needs?

Calcium Functions;

·         1. Determines the proportion of all minerals in the cell’s molecules.

·         2. Is responsible for the density, color and function of the cell.

·         3. Readily bonds with water, proteins and minerals for more efficient utilization but the cells.

·         4. Is the most efficient pH buffer for regulating the bodies fluids.

·         5. Calcium releases the mineral energy of your food during digestion.

The Liver and Calcium

There is not an organ, next to the brain, that has more responsibility in the body than the liver. The liver is the organ which is responsible for making all of the primary building and maintenance material for the rest of the organs and tissues in the body. Also included in the livers functions is the manufacturing of vital digestive enzymes.

Another function of the liver is processing waste. The liver is responsible for chemically adjusting the cell waste so that the kidneys can extract it from the blood. If this function is impaired, the body will soon poison itself.

For the liver to function correctly it requires three primary item, water, oxygen and calcium. If any, or all, of these are lacking or below the amounts needed, the liver will be inhibited from functioning at its optimum.

Because calcium is the vital link, in controlling acid-alkaline balance in your body’s chemistry, a deficiency in calcium causes the body to misuse the calcium that it does have available. This causes the pH of the body fluids, as reflected in urine and saliva, to either drift too high or too low. The body tries to control this change by taking calcium that is stored in body tissue like bones, teeth, cartilage and muscles. If this doesn’t work, the body will then deposit the calcium in the wrong areas.

Calcium Compounds are not all the Same.

The media has been touting for years that we need calcium, but has never addressed the fact that calcium compounds are different and react differently in the body based on the acid-alkaline balance. For example; Calcium carbonate – calcium, carbon and oxygen, Calcium Sulfate – calcium, sulfur and oxygen, Calcium hydroxide – calcium, hydrogen and oxygen.
These are three examples of the seven basic groups of calcium. What and how other elements are attached, to calcium, will determine the reaction of the calcium on a living item. The type (or types) of calcium needed can only be determined by measuring the acid/alkaline ratios determined in a “pH test”.

Calcium compounds will react in one of three ways on the basic chemistry of your body.

1. Calcium will influence your body in an alkaline direction.

Or

2. Calcium will influence your body in an acid direction.

Or

3. Calcium will supply need that will maintain a healthy acid base ratio.

Acidosis

Acidosis is the tendency of the body to be over acid. This occurs when the body loses its alkaline reserve. Persons who have diabetes often suffer from acidosis. The symptoms of acidosis are insomnia, rheumatoid arthritis, migraine headaches, hard dry stools, sensitivity of teeth to vinegar and acid fruits. The causes of acidosis are kidney, liver, and adrenal disorder, improper diet, anger, stress, and excess niacin, vitamin C, and aspirin.

Altought it might seem that citrus fruits would have an acid effect on the body, the citric acid they contain actually has an alkaline effect in the system, converting to carbon dioxide and water.

Alkalosis
Alkalosis occurs when the body is to alkaline. It is often the results of excessive intake of alkaline drugs such as sodium bicarbonate for the treatment of gastritis or peptic ulcers. It can result in high cholesterol, endocrine imbalance and osteoarthritis. The symptoms of alkalosis include creaking joints, bursitis, allergies, chronic indigestion and menstrual problems. Alkalosis occurs less often than acidosis. Alkalosis may cause calcium to build up in the body, such as in bone or heel spurs.

Calcium
A calcium deficiency may result in the following symptoms: muscle cramps, brittle nails, eczema, aching joints, increased cholesterol levels, rheumatoid arthritis, tooth decay and numbness in the arms and/or legs.

Without knowing your body’s chemistry, it is impossible to accurately determine the correct calcium. There is a strong probability of picking a calcium that will make your pH worst rather than better. This is simply because of the odds. There are many “calcium supplements”. Chances are the main ingredient, especially the less expensive ones, is calcium carbonate from either ground limestone or oyster shell. Oyster shell calcium is the poorest of the supplemental forms. Depending on how fine the grind was, ground limestone is better but not really the best.

Do not buy calcium supplements that have magnesium as part of the ingredients. Magnesium is a stable mineral in the body. Magnesium needs should be met separately from calcium. Dolomite should not be used as a calcium supplement because the calcium in dolomite is not readily available to your body’s chemistry.

Also don’t buy combination supplements for there calcium content. Calcium supplements should be just the appropriate calcium by itself and should be taken without other minerals.

Vitamin C and vitamin D are also important vitamins for working with the body’s pH and calcium balance. If your system is strongly acid taking large doses of Vitamin C would drive the system farther acid causing strain on your body’s systems. Vitamin D has the same effect on an alkaline system. The urine and saliva pH test will determine if your body intact requires additional vitamins.

Remember, your pH numbers are the key to knowing what mineral nutrients your body needs — especially calcium. The ideas pH range which maintains the best calcium and mineral uptake, along with the best utilization, is 6.3 to 6.5.

More on Calcium Types;

Again the most common calcium supplement found is calcium carbonate, from ground limestone or oyster shell, or calcium phosphate and calcium lactate. Others include calcium citrate, calcium aspartate, calcium orotate and calcium gluconate.
The best forms of calcium are pure calcium gluconate, calcium lactate, and calcium citrate. In order for the calcium to react correctly in the body to control the acid-base balance the correct type must be used. Calcium lactate is used as a strong acidifying calcium. The others are fairly neutral in their acid-base reaction, but are very usable calcium. Calcium carbonate (Tums) neutralizes the stomach acid needed for calcium absorption. Calcium taken with iron reduces the effect of both minerals. Insufficient vitamin D intake or excess phosphorus and magnesium hinders the uptake of calcium. A diet that is high either in protein, fat or sugar also affects calcium uptake. The average American diet of meats, refined grains, and soft drinks (high in phosphorus) leads to increased bone loss in adults.

Determining Your average pH;

Mircofine pH Paper

Using a very narrow band pH paper measure the pH of a fresh sample of your urine and saliva and record the results. Do this two times per day for seven days at the same time of day. The best time for the test is about two hours after a meal. When testing the saliva it is best to wait at least a half hour after eating or drinking anything. At the end of seven days you should have fourteen pH readings of each your urine and saliva. Add each group of fourteen up and divide by fourteen. This will determine your average urine pH and saliva pH. It is best to retest pH after four to six weeks on a calcium plan to determine if it is correctly effecting your bodies acid-base and to adjust your calcium intake. When your bodies pH is stable, between 6.2 and 6.6 less frequent testing would need to be done.

The chart helps to determine which type of calcium would be most useful for your bodies pH. The second calcium is the one that helps correct acid-base imbalance. Another calcium – calcium citrate, is indicated as a back up for females who require additional calcium. In addition it indicates if vitamin A (acid-reacting) or vitamin D (alkaline-reacting) should also be taken to move the pH back toward the idea range. Additionally vitamin B-12, kelp, digestive enzymes and CoQ10 are recommended based upon the saliva pH tests.

Since most people are unable to obtain enough calcium from food alone, a calcium supplement is recommended. Find the suggested dose for your age group and subtract the amount you receive from food from that number.

infants: 360-600 mg/day

children: 800-1200 mg/day

teens: 1200 mg/day

adults: 1200 mg/day

pregnant or lactating women: 1500 mg/day

post-menopausal women: 1500 mg/day

Additionally, for good health a good multi-mineral supplement is very valuable. There are 66 different elemental minerals which our bodies require to function at it’s peak. If any are missing the functions that require them cease, no matter how abundant and available the rest of the minerals may be.

Is this “Socialism for Wall Street” or Something More Sinister

25 September, 2008 by naturalsolutionsradio

Today’s comment is by Bob Bauman, JD, former U.S. Cong re ssman and long-time Senior Writer and Legal Counsel for The Sovereign Society.

Dear A-Letter Reader,

Not far from America’s financial epicenter, universally known as “Wall Street,” is a huge, empty crater where the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center once stood.

Within weeks of the disaster that annihilated those once-glorious free market icons, fear served as the justification for a panicked U.S. Congress to enact the so-called PATRIOT Act.

Without even seeing the text of the bill, the congressional herd mentality to “do something!” produced one of the greatest assaults on the American Constitution ever passed into law. Its odious impact on our liberties still remains today. And barring the miracle of a new Congress emerging with both courage and common sense, it will continue on for years to come.

And now we find ourselves 7 Septembers after 9-11, in a different yet all too familiar national media “panic.”

“The experts” a re telling us that the Congress must act immediately to bailout Wall Street, adding nearly a trillion dollars to the national debt. (The existing public debt alone figures out to be US$31,600 for every man, women and child in America , and this new demand will add another estimated US$2,300 for every American).

But wouldn’t hindsight prompt us to think before acting this time around?

Welfare on Wall Street

I am not going to re view he re the immediate and past history that TV talking heads recite adnauseum that leads to a media-induced national migraine. Instead, let’s go back to the beginning.

Wall St re et’s name is a direct reference to a defensive wall that Dutch settlers erected on the southern tip of Manhattan Island in the 17th century. The are a didn’t become famous as America ’s financial center until the end of the 18th century, when 24 of America ’s most prominent brokers signed an agreement that created the New York Stock Exchange.

But now, in my humble opinion, it is time to resurrect that wall, at least figuratively, and certainly politically and legislatively – in order to defend America against Wall St re et.

The garrulous Senator from Delawa re , Joe (The Mouth) Biden made the news last week in saying that paying g re ater taxes was wealthy Americans’ “patriotic duty.” But even he could not fo re see the dimensions of what would come next…

Yes, the “panic” came quickly. Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. filed for bankruptcy protection. The government took control of AIG. Liquidity froze up. They’ re saying this could be the most di re market malfunction since the crashes of 1987 – or even 1929.

But the crash was not a surprise to everyone. Here at The Sovereign Society we have long been warning you individually and collectively for quite some time. We told you that the House of Cards was going to collapse – it was just a matter of when. And we have been offering sound investment alternatives to avoid the disaster.

What Lies Beyond the “End of an Empire ” Closeout Sale ?

“The financial market crisis of 2007 may be re membe re d as the beginning of the nationalization of a large part of the financial system.” So wrote Floyd Norris in The New York Times. (Dec. 14: A Worrisome New Wrinkle in Bailouts).

Norris also noted that it was foreign governments’ billion dollar “sovereign wealth funds” that came to the re scue last year: “It took a [ Singapore ] government bailout to shore up UBS…it was Citigroup that got [ Abu Dhabi ] government aid to help re cover from its bad investments.”

Now we a re told that the United States government, headed by a Republican p re sident, must c re ate its own US$700 billion sovereign wealth fund (or sovereign debt fund) to re scue us once again. This fund must buy up an untold amount of investment vehicles gone bad – home and other re al estate mortgages, sub-prime derivatives, exotic instruments few understand and no one seems able to evaluate – except by calling it “junk.”

And all this, only weeks after Congress adopted a US$300 billion housing bill that was supposed to solve the crisis!

If It Looks Like a Duck and It Quacks Like a Duck…

Bank bailouts may or may not be necessary to avoid a major economic recession, but government owning private businesses and banks smacks of fascism.

Yes, dear re aders, if you enjoy re ality TV shows, you’ll love the re ality of the same kind economic fascism once promoted by Mussolini, Hitler and Juan Peron, among other economic crackpots. Hugo Chavez, anyone?

America, welcome to “backdoor fascism.”

Added to all their other horrors, these fascist leaders put their national economies under government control without outright confiscating the means of production.

Fascist governments nationalized key industries – especially banks – managed currencies and made massive state investments. True, fascist economies we re based on private property and private initiative. But these we re contingent upon agre ement with and service to the state.

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often put the government leaders into power. In doing so, they created a mutually beneficial business/government re lationship and power elite.

Have you checked how much Wall Street has donated to both Democrats and Republicans in Congress who are now writing the new emergency bailout laws?

Fascist regimes we re governed by groups of friends and associates who appointed each other to government positions. They then used power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. Fascist governments instituted state- regulated allocation of resources, especially in the financial sectors.

“Oh, but that can’t happen here ,” you protest.

Hey, folks, just look around. Isn’t any of this beginning to appear sickeningly familiar? What is past is prologue!

At Least Someone Out The re is Making Sense

Newt Gingrich is one of the few urging Congress to step on the brakes in this US$700 billion bailout plan,

In National Review online, former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Gingrich writes: “Congress was designed by the Founding Fathers to move slowly, precisely to avoid the sudden panic of a one-week solution that becomes a 20-year mess.”

In an NPR radio interview, Gingrich said he thinks the bailout plan is “just wrong,” and that “it’s likely to fail, and it’s likely to make the situation worse over time.”

Will America ever Wake Up and Smell the Totalitarianism?

Wouldn’t it be unusual – even heroic – if the two current candidates for the U.S. presidency stopped their irrelevant hollering at each other? If they dropped their absurd daily nostrums that even they know will never become law?

Isn’t it about time that they cancel their campaign whistle stops and return to the U.S. Senate Chamber, (where, after all, they are both still members), and participated in a real debate? Perhaps about where America and the national economy truly should be headed – and what they would do about it?

If ever there has been a point in modern times when true leadership was needed, that time is now.

BEHAVIORAL NUTRITION AND ALLERGIES

22 September, 2008 by naturalsolutionsradio

By Dr. Eliezer Ben-Joseph

You go outside to breathe in the spring air and start sneezing, your son eats bananas and gets diarrhea, your Aunt Mary breaks out in a skin rash after eating strawberries, and when your next-door neighbor even smells cooked cabbage he breaks out in hives. Sound like food allergy? Most people are familiar with these acute immediate reactions, experiencing watering eyes, skin rashes, or runny noses within minutes of eating the guilty food. Yet what about the chronically depressed, hyperactive children, or those with labels of learning disabilities? Do these issues fall into the category of undiagnosed food allergies?

Millions of people continue to suffer from undiagnosed and untreated food allergy. At the heart of this epidemic problem is the prevalent misconception about the nature of food allergy. The belief of many health professionals, including allergists and dieticians, is quite outdated when it comes to understanding food allergy. Food allergies are not taken seriously unless they conform to the symptomatic patterns seen in the immediate “Type I” allergy reactions like stuffy nose, wheezing or hives, etc. which occur shortly after eating the allergic food. To add insult to injury, most allergy sufferers must deal with the condescending professional conclusion that their allergic symptoms are psychosomatic, the “it’s all in your mind” attitude from the physicians that perpetuate self-doubt, depression, and anxiety in their patients.

Hundreds of hours of clinical experiments on thousands of allergy sufferers, mountains of
research, and numerous international symposiums on food allergy have shown that these widely held ideas about allergy are severely distorted. What are the facts?

Food allergy reactions are categorized into four types, depending on the immune mechanisms that are involved. They are Type I, II, III or IV. It is generally recognized that all Type I reactions are immediate and are mediated by IgE antibodies. These reactions may account for only about 10% of all reactions. Scientific research now indicates that delayed food allergies (Type II, III, and perhaps IV) may account for up to 90% of all food allergy symptoms. Delayed food allergies do not appear to involve the IgE antibody. They involve IgG and, less often, IgM and IgA antibodies and, in Type III reactions, food antigen IgG antibody complexes as well. Symptoms are delayed from one hour to 2-3 days after consumption. These immune complex reactions involve the much more hidden symptoms of food allergy.

There are many emotional, mental, and behavioral symptoms and signs involved with these hidden food reactions. Mental or physical fatigue, an inability to concentrate, irritability for no apparent reason, inexplicable depression, free-floating anxiety and panic attacks, crying jags, mood swings, hyperactivity, mental confusion, acute schizophrenia, and addictive behavior traits may all be linked to delayed food reactions.

In summary, we may draw a number of conclusions about immediate or delayed food allergies:

1. Food allergy is not rare. Food allergies are common in both children and adults, brought on by nutritionally depleted diets, stressful lives, chemically polluted environments. They are, of course, from foods, and hereditary dispositions.

2. The effects of food allergy are not limited to the air passages, the skin, and the digestive tract. Although these are common sites, once in the bloodstream the effects of food allergens may show up anywhere that the blood flows and may produce a wide variety of physical and mental symptoms.

3. Most food allergies are delayed reactions. They take anywhere from an hour to three days to show themselves and are, therefore, much harder to detect.

4. Delayed food allergy appears to be the inability of the digestive tract to prevent partially digested food from entering the bloodstream. Once in the bloodstream, allergens may be deposited in tissue, causing the various symptoms.

5. When allergic sensitivities begin to develop they have far-reaching and unsuspected effects. The expression of an allergy reaction indicates that the metabolic balance of the system is undermined.

6. Most of the causes of allergy are under our control and may, therefore, be minimized, corrected, or eliminated. There is not an organ in the human body that cannot be overly stressed, whether it’s your heart, your brain, your liver, or your immune system. When you go beyond the limit, there will be a malfunction, inhibition or breakdown. Many of these stresses are unavoidable; however our ability to cope with these stresses may be improved immeasurably by making beneficial changes in our lifestyles and our diets.

With all of this information now available on food allergies, it becomes very appropriate to have complete Food Allergy evaluations as the foundation of all therapeutic modalities and programs.

About Our Clinic and Services

Dr. Eliezer Ben-Joseph

After more than thirty years of study and research covering the globe, Dr. Eliezer Ben-Joseph knows alternative medicine. Studying the latest information in his field, as well as other branches of medicine is a daily pursuit for him. His new facility, Natural Solutions Network, offers some of the latest equipment for assessment and treatment.

What is alternative medicine?

It’s a method of treatment that is an alternative to the drug and surgery model offered by allopathic physicians. Alternative medicine works with the body to strengthen and support all of its systems, helping the body to help itself in correcting the conditions known as “disease”.

What is Medical Thermography?

Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI) or, simply termed, thermography, is one of the most exciting, yet overlooked diagnostic procedures of this century. It is a visual imaging, non-invasive tool which uses the heat from your body to create a thermal “map”. This is referred to as a thermogram.  Thermography aids in diagnosing a variety of health care conditions. It is completely safe and uses no radiation.

How does thermography work?

Utilizing a high-speed computer and a highly accurate thermal imaging camera, the heat-generated images from your body are recorded and processed by the computer into an image map which is then stored on the computer.  The image is then sent via email to Interpretive Services group   specialists in the interpretation of medical thermal imagery. The Interpretive Services group is comprised of physicians who have specialized in various areas of thermal image interpretation and have Board Certification in Medical Thermography from the American Medical Infrared Academy.

A doctor can use the images to locate areas of heat and cold. These areas relate to conditions for which the Food and Drug Administration and the Bureau of Medical Devices have approved the thermography procedure.

The medical applications of thermography are extensive, particularly in the fields of rheumatology, neurology, oncology, physiotherapy, and sports medicine. Thermal imaging systems are economical, easy-to-use tools for accurately examining and monitoring patients.

What can it determine?

Indications for a thermographic evaluation include breast pathology, deep vein thrombosis, extra-cranial vessel disease (head and neck vessels), neuro-musculo-skeletal injury disorders, and vascular diseases of the lower extremities.

Other conditions diagnosed are: arteriosclerosis, breast disease, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, headache evaluation, herniated or ruptured disc disease, inflammatory connective tissue disease, infectious disease (shingles, leprosy), ligament/tendon/muscle tear, nerve trauma, neuropathy, neoplasia (melanoma, squamous cell, basal), nutritional disease (alcoholism, diabetes), Raynaud’s syndrome, sprain/strain, stroke, trigeminal neuralgia, TMJ, whiplash.

What about breast screening for women? What are the benefits?

Timeliness: Problems, both cancerous tumors and lumps, can be found a full 5 to 8 years before abnormalities are seen on mammograms. Early detection provides the best outcome.

Inclusiveness: Examines the whole chest, breast and armpit areas. Good for all breast types: young/dense, fibrocystic, women on HRT.

Precision: Locates exact problem area, allowing for more precise focus with structural diagnostic tests such as ultrasound, mammogram, and MRI.

No Risk: No harmful rays emitted so it can be done as often as needed without risk.

No Pain: No painful squeezing, pressure, or touching by equipment or technician.

What is the Power Stand?

The Power Stand is a machine that uses ‘Whole Body Vibration Training Therapy’. The medical benefits of the Power Stand are considerable, as evidenced by its acceptance in medical, rehabilitation and therapeutic centers across the country. It uses advanced vibration technology, allowing people with debilitating conditions, such as osteoporosis, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke victims, to avail themselves of the benefit of exercise while working within their personal limitations.  Published studies have shown that whole body vibration training may provide the only method of counteracting the degeneration of bone density, providing new bone growth without the aid of pharmacology. The Power Stand is the ultimate weapon against osteoporosis, which affects millions of Americans each year.

How does the Power Stand work?

Whole body vibration engages the body’s innate reflexive response to disruptions in stability in order to stimulate muscle strength and performance, flexibility, and range of motion. During the intense vibration there is a release of critical fitness, wellness and longevity hormones. Whole body vibration also stimulates fat reduction and the reduction of pain, particularly lumbar back ailments, by increasing blood circulation and metabolism.

Whole body vibration training using the Power Stand provides a proven, low-impact method for achieving fitness and wellness goals and increasing longevity.

The Power Stand has made a substantial impact on the world of sports medicine. Professional teams from all four major sports, including the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NHL Stanley Cup finalists the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, and Major League Baseball’s Chicago Cubs, among many other pro teams, currently utilize the Power Stand for its host of whole body vibration training benefits. As a result, it is now gaining attention among mainstream health and fitness professionals and longevity centers across the country. The Power Stand is not only for elite athletes, but also for the host of Americans, young and old, who want to live longer, healthier lives.

What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a medical treatment which safely delivers high doses of oxygen to the body tissues. The patient is entirely enclosed in a pressure chamber, breathing 100% pure oxygen (O2) at greater than one atmosphere pressure. The chamber is pressurized with compressed air as the patient receives pure O2 by mask, head tent, or nasal tube.

How does Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy work?

The pressure inside the chamber causes the oxygen you breathe to be dissolved at greater levels in your blood, spinal fluid, lymphatic fluid, and all tissue. Hyper oxygenation infuses extra oxygen into the blood plasma, increasing oxygen saturation in all tissue. This can increase the level of oxygen in compromised tissues to greater than 10-15 times normal values.

What are the currently accepted indications for HBO?

Air/Gas Embolisms, Carbon Monoxide Poisoning and Smoke Inhalation, Decompression, Sickness, Adjunctive Hyperbaric Oxygen in Intracranial Abscess, Gas Gangrene, Crush Injuries, Necrotizing Soft Tissue Infection, Enhanced Healing of Selected Wounds, Exceptional Blood Loss, Osteomyelitis, Radiation Tissue Damage, Skin Grafts and Flaps
Thermal Burns

What are some of the research indications for HBO?

Figuring Out Fat

15 September, 2008 by naturalsolutionsradio

With so much information available about the effects of dietary fat on health, understanding the role fat plays in a well-balanced diet can be pretty confusing. To cut through the confusion, it’s important to remember that fat is an essential nutrient that everyone needs to stay healthy.

Fat is a valuable energy source and carries fat-soluble vitamins needed for proper growth and development. It also contributes important taste and textural qualities that are part of enjoying food.

Too much fat, however, can increase the risk of heart disease, obesity and other health problems. When moderating fat intake, it’s important to consider these points:

· Health authorities recommend Americans consume 30 percent or less of their total daily calories from fat, with 10 percent or less of those calories from saturated fat. Remember, the 30 percent refers to your total fat intake over time, not single foods or meals. Use the following chart to guide your fat intake.

·If you eat this Total fat Total saturated number of calories per day fat per day per day: (grams) (grams)1,600 53 or less 18 or less2,000 65 or less 20 or less2,200 73 or less 24 or less 2,500 80 or less 25 or less

· Use the Nutrition Facts panel on the food label to help determine how much fat is in foods. Remember, it’s the total fat intake over time that’s important. A food high in fat can be part of a healthy diet as long as it’s balanced with other lower-fat food choices.

· All fats are a combination of saturated, polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fatty acids. Each of these types of fats have different effects on the body, but all contain nine calories per gram.

 · Blood cholesterol levels are influenced by family history, weight, age, smoking, physical activity and eating habits. Studies have shown that diets which are too high in certain saturated fatty acids and dietary cholesterol can raise blood cholesterol.

Can I Use Oats?

Based on numerous studies in the last several years, involving children and adults, using pure oats and store-shelf oats, around the world; research shows that oats do not appear to be harmful to persons with gluten intolerance in moderation. Recent discovery of the specific reactive peptide in gluten intolerance and research by Dr. Don Kasarda on the amino acid sequencing of oats vs. the now known peptide, would again clear oats as not having the reactive peptide sequence known to be problematic for gluten intolerance. Therefore oats are gluten free.

However, there is concern by the medical and research communities worldwide that the level of possible contamination of oats with gluten from unacceptable sources is too high. Therefore, GIG® is not recommending the use of oats by the celiac community.

Today, as we know and understand research on gluten intolerance, the offending cereals that must be avoided are wheat, rye, barley and their derivative cereals.
